Vincent & Son is a small local interior painting service based in Sheldon, Birmingham. I take on selected small painting jobs, room refreshes and feature walls across Sheldon, Solihull and nearby areas.
The work is personally handled with clear pricing, careful preparation and an honest job scope. The aim is simple: clean interior work, fair pricing and a finish that improves the room without overcomplicating the process.
The name Vincent carries family meaning — it is my surname, my late father's name and my son's surname. My father worked in building and decorating, and this small business carries that name forward through honest local interior work.

Standard painting refreshes bedrooms, living rooms and smaller spaces. Feature wall work covers either a clean single-colour statement wall or a bespoke hand-painted abstract design.

Soft, modern directions
Many homeowners know they want a calmer, cleaner room but aren't sure which colours to choose. I can suggest simple, modern directions based on the room, the light and the style you want. For most modern interiors, soft neutrals, warm whites, muted greens, stone tones, taupes and soft greys work better than harsh, bright colours.
Calm warm neutrals
Warm white, soft ivory, stone, beige, oatmeal, light taupe — a calm, bright, expensive-looking room.
Modern greige / stone
Greige, limestone, putty, warm grey, mushroom, clay beige — neutral but not plain white.
Soft green interiors
Sage, olive grey, muted eucalyptus, soft moss, grey-green — a natural, calm, designed look.
Moody feature wall
Charcoal, deep olive, dark taupe, muted navy, warm black, deep brown-grey — best on one wall, not every wall.
Soft abstract wall art palette
Off-white, mist grey, warm stone, soft charcoal, muted olive, clay, pale blue-grey, smoky beige — for hand-painted abstract feature walls.
Always buy tester pots first and check colours in the actual room during daylight and evening light before buying full tins. Recommended finishes — walls: durable matt emulsion · ceilings: flat matt emulsion · woodwork: water-based satinwood or eggshell · abstract wall art: artist acrylic over a matt base.
Who supplies what
For standard room painting, the customer supplies the paint. I can advise roughly how much may be needed once I see the room and photos.

How much does a small room cost?
Small room painting starts from £250 labour only for one small room — 4 walls and ceiling, in good condition. Final price depends on size, wall condition, colour change, ceiling, furniture and woodwork.
Do I need to supply the paint?
Yes — for standard room painting the customer supplies paint. I can advise roughly how much you may need after seeing photos.
What does "labour only" mean?
It means the price covers the painting work and basic preparation. Paint and specialist materials aren't included unless agreed separately.
Do you paint ceilings?
Yes, ceilings can be included. A small room with 4 walls and ceiling starts from £250 labour only if the room is in good condition.
Do you paint woodwork?
Yes, woodwork can be added. It usually costs extra depending on skirting, door frames, doors and condition.
Do you remove wallpaper?
Not currently.
Do you treat damp or mould?
No. Damp or mould should be properly treated before painting. I don't currently take damp or mould treatment jobs.
Do you offer full renovation work?
Not currently. Vincent & Son is focused on small interior painting jobs and feature walls.

Yes. Hand-painted abstract feature walls start from £550. Price depends on wall size, style, condition and design complexity.
